As the 3rd generation leader of a… read more 134 year legacy in trading,retail and retail finance, Mr. John has been involved in the daily functioning of the business since his early days and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He falls back on much of this learning and experience when driving the Group into greater heights.

Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG) consists of diverse economic activities spanning 52 companies / verticals from Retail Financial Services to Hospitality, Real Estate, Automotive, IT Services and Alternate Energy. In addition to his position in the Group, Mr. John is also the Managing Director of Muthoot FinCorp Ltd, the flagship company of MPG, registered with the Reserve Bank of India. Muthoot FinCorp (MFL) is one among the largest NBFCs in India and is the Financial Services Power House with a network of over 3,600 branches across the country.

Mr. John understands that the future and efficacy of the Group companies’ businesses lie not only in the strength of its people culture and customer centricity, but also in embracing the cutting edge technology to leverage for customer benefit. With this in mind, the Group has been partnering with and investing in new-age and technology-led start-ups with a keen eye on customer-centricity and convenience.

With over 30,000 Muthootians under his leadership, Mr. John is a strong champion of the value of human capital. He is passionate about real financial inclusion and keenly pursues the uplifting of those experiencing economic disadvantage. This passion cumulated into the formation of Muthoot FinCorp’s Purpose of “transforming the life of the common man by improving their social well-being”.

Being passionate about the betterment of humanity and introducing well-being to the masses through financial interventions, Mr. John is an industry thought-leader who is actively involved with various business platforms like CII (Chairman, CII-Kerala State Council) and Kerala Management Association, etc.

Mr. John has been recognised for his works and received several awards including “Young Hotel Entrepreneur Award 2006” (Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India) and “Business Man of the Year 2009” (Trivandrum Management Association), to name a few.

Muthoot FinCorp (MFL) is one among the largest NFBCs in India and is the Financial Services Power House with a network of over 3,600 branches across the country.

Mr. George is also a Director in various MPG companies across diverse business domains such as Hospitality, Affordable housing, Automotive retail, and Real Estate to name a few. Mr. George has been hands-on in the family business for over 3 decades and has worked tirelessly with the leaders and teams of various verticals to take MPG to the heights it has reached today.

Mr. George’s work is deeply rooted in the promise of empowering human ambition through innovative, technology-driven solutions which make substantial and sustainable difference in the lives of those at the bottom of the pyramid. With his humility and simplistic outlook, Mr. George constantly works towards creating and promoting customer-centric products and services that make a difference in the lives of customers and equip them to take charge and transform their dreams into reality.

In addition to his many responsibilities, Mr. George is also the Chairman of the Kerala Non-Banking Finance Companies Welfare Association (KNBFC), Kochi; Secretary of Association of Gold Loan Companies (AGLOC), India; committee member of Finance Companies Association (FCA) and (FADC).

With his passion towards serving the Indian grassroots and helping them build their dreams, Mr. Thomas is an expert in micro credit and micro savings business. His knowledge and expertise of emerging markets and customer needs have wielded the expansion and diversification of the Group into what it is today. He strictly follows the principle of “Business with a Purpose” and constantly demonstrates that the Group’s activities don’t stop at mere financial lending, instead he recognises that customer wellness and the practice of Responsible Lending is equally important.

Mr. Thomas is a key architect of the much-diversified MPG conglomerate. He initiated several businesses including those in the sectors of Automotive retail, Two-wheeler finance, Microfinance and Affordable Housing finance. Mr. Thomas was instrumental in the setting up of Technopolis, one of Kerala’s first IT parks established through public-private partnership.

Under Mr. Thomas’ leadership, MPG has been actively involved in numerous philanthropical works through the Muthoot Pappachan Foundation. Such works include children’s cleft surgery, disaster-relief construction works, rehabilitation centre, anti-drug awareness campaigns and blood donation, to name a few.

Additionally, driven by Mr. Thomas's deep passion for sports, the Muthoot Pappachan Group’s CSR has made a transformative impact on grassroots sports development in Kerala. Under his visionary leadership, the group has established grassroots academies for football, volleyball, and badminton, dedicated to identifying and nurturing young talent. These academies provide comprehensive support, including professional training, quality education, and nutritional guidance, empowering aspiring athletes to achieve their full potential.

In 2014, Mr Thomas received the SEN Inclusive Business and Community Award by YPO-WPO in recognition of the women empowerment drive undertaken by the Group.
