Muthoot Housing Finance Co. Ltd COVID-19 Moratorium Period Request

In order to extend the relief to its customer under Regulatory Package announced by RBI vide its Notification ref. RBI/2019-20/ 186 – DOR.No.BP.BC.47/21.04.048/2019-20 dated March 27, 2020 (RBI Notification), Muthoot Housing Finance Company Ltd. (MHFCL) proposes the following:

  • An option to continue to make payment towards their loan or opt for moratorium/deferment of PEMI and EMI from 1st March 2020 to May 2020.
  • The moratorium/deferment of PEMI & EMI is Optional, not compulsory for Customers. It is temporary postponement of payment of EMI/Pre-EMI for the period from Mar 01 to May 31, 2020.
  • Interest shall continue to accrue on the outstanding amount of the loans during the moratorium period. The interest would be capitalised, and the residual tenure will be increased by month/s for moratorium granted of three months whichever is lower along with increase in EMI. This will not lead to any change in the terms and conditions of the loan with Muthoot Housing Finance Company Limited.
  • The customer who have not opted of the Moratorium period, MHFCL will continue the presentation of the cheques/ECS/NACH, etc for the collection of the loan instalments / dues.
  • Customers who wants to avail the deferment under the RBI circular, shall send a communication to opt for moratorium and can communicate to MHFCL by using any of the following modes.

Customers are requested to fill the below form to request for Moratorium Period.

Muthoot Housing customers who have not opted for the moratorium option and whose installments have returned unpaid between March’20 till May’20, shall be deemed to have opted for availing the moratorium and necessary relief shall be provided to such borrowers as per RBI Circular.

Further, customers who have paid their EMI/PRE-EMI’s for the month of April or May and still wants to avail the deferment, can communicate to MHFCL using any mode mentioned above, within 10 days from the date of the Instalment paid. MHFCL shall then refund or reverse such amount of EMI/PEMI/Instalment.
